Budtender Part Time (Everest Cannabis Co) - Montano Plaza
About The Position
As a Budtender, you provide exceptional customer service, in-depth product knowledge, and a positive, educational shopping experience. You help customers make informed choices by offering personalized recommendations and explaining product advantages, potential effects, and safe consumption methods. You also help maintain an appealing, well-organized store, process sales and cash transactions, follow company policies and applicable regulations, and work collaboratively with the team. This is a part-time role at Everest Cannabis Co in Montano Plaza, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Compensation is $13.00 per hour plus variable tips. The schedule varies according to business needs; stores operate seven days a week, with hours that vary by location and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in cash handling and accurate basic math calculations.
- Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds or more multiple times per day.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid New Mexico Food Handler License to support safe and compliant handling of cannabis products.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers professionally and listen to their preferences and requirements.
- Provide product insights and personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and usage scenarios.
- Educate customers about cannabis products, potential effects, and safe consumption methods.
- Keep the store neat and visually appealing, with organized product displays.
- Stay informed about industry trends, product releases, and regulatory changes.
- Manage cash transactions and use the point-of-sale system to process sales.
- Follow company policies and procedures and comply with state and local regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a positive, customer-centric work environment.
- Support the Management Team with store activities, customer assistance, checkouts, and cash handling.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team.
