About The Position

Brewistas are members of the Brew Crew who help carry out the mission to “Inspire a community of kindness through a revolutionary coffee experience.” They report to the stand manager and treat interactions with customers, teammates, and vendors as opportunities to build others up. During each shift, Brewistas prepare drinks, take orders, interact with customers, make premixed flavors and teas, clean, and restock supplies. The position requires a flexible schedule, a minimum of three shifts per week, and regular weekend work, with availability for holidays if necessary. Shifts are listed as four, five, or seven hours, and may be day or night shifts. The physical setting is a coffee shop, and the work takes place at one location.

Requirements

Able to create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers for up to five minutes at a time.
Able to work carefully and quickly with hot water, coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products.
Able to work outdoors for prolonged periods in varied weather conditions.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand comfortably for hours at a time.
Able to climb a ladder and use a stepladder.
Able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed for stocking and cleaning.
Able to walk safely between and around cars in the drive-thru line.
Able to use a utility knife safely.
Able to work a flexible schedule and a minimum of three shifts per week.
Regular weekend availability and availability to work holidays if necessary.

Responsibilities

Confirm customers’ drink orders and enter orders correctly into the point-of-sale system.
Collect payments and accurately count back change.
Prepare drinks and premixes.
Work with urgency and remain productive and proactive throughout the shift, including during slow periods.
Build personal connections with customers through genuine interactions, warm smiles, and positive body language.
Know the menu and drink offerings, help customers identify what they want, and offer appropriate suggestions and recommendations.
Dress appropriately for the assigned position and bring a professional, positive attitude to work.
Follow shift-change duties, checklists, and weekly chores, and complete them as needed.
Be clocked in and ready at the assigned position when the shift begins.
Treat teammates and customers with respect and kindness.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organizational standards and sanitation regulations.
Follow company procedures for communicating time-off requests.
