About The Position

Landmark Hotel Group is seeking an AM Line Cook for the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront in Suffolk, Virginia. The cook prepares menu items according to recipes, yield guides, and department standards, while completing kitchen opening and setup duties. The position supports smooth meal service by maintaining supplies, communicating shortages and unavailable items, and coordinating with the Chef/Kitchen Manager and food-and-beverage service staff. Requirements

One year of experience as a line cook at a hotel or full-service restaurant.
Ability to obtain Food Handling and Sanitation Certification within four weeks of hire.
A good attitude and work ethic to support operating efficiency and established guest-satisfaction criteria.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Set up the work station with the tools, equipment, and supplies required by standards.
Inspect tools, equipment, and supplies for cleanliness and proper working condition.
Review the production schedule and pars, and prioritize items for the day.
Tell the Chef/Kitchen Manager about supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day's tasks.
Transport supplies from the storeroom and stock them in designated areas.
Begin preparation of items needed for the day's menu.
Prepare menu items according to recipes, yield guides, and department standards.
Notify the Chef/Kitchen Manager of shortages before items run out.
Inform food-and-beverage service staff of unavailable items and the quantity of available menu specials during the meal period.
