About The Position

The Branch Manager will establish and lead Owen Electric Company’s new Space Coast office, with primary responsibility for supporting and growing our electrical construction work at Cape Canaveral. This role is accountable for branch profitability, project execution, customer relationships, staffing, and team development. The Branch Manager will build a local operation capable of delivering work safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards. The position combines branch leadership with direct involvement in project performance, working closely with clients, project managers, field leaders, and corporate support teams. Safety takes priority over profit and schedule.

Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of commercial electrical construction experience in a Branch Manager, Regional Manager, or comparable operational leadership role.
Demonstrated responsibility for profit and loss, project financial performance, staffing, and customer relationships.
Proven ability to lead multiple electrical construction projects and develop project and field leadership teams.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, project scheduling, labor planning, procurement, contracts, and change management.
Ability to interpret financial reports, identify performance issues, and implement corrective action.
Strong communication, negotiation, customer service, and team development skills.
Proficiency with construction management, scheduling, and financial reporting tools.
Ability to work regularly from the Space Coast office and assigned project sites.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet applicable company driving and project-site access requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead the startup of the Space Coast office, including staffing, office and field support needs, equipment, and operating processes.
Develop and execute the branch operating plan, including revenue, gross profit, overhead, cash flow, and staffing goals.
Coordinate startup spending and resource commitments with executive leadership within approved budgets.
Establish clear responsibilities and performance expectations for branch personnel.
Uphold Owen Electric’s values of safety, quality, teamwork, and growth.
Oversee Cape Canaveral and other assigned Space Coast projects from preconstruction and mobilization through closeout and final collection.
Hold project teams accountable for schedules, manpower plans, material availability, productivity, and quality.
Maintain regular jobsite involvement to assess progress, support field leadership, and resolve issues early.
Coordinate estimating, purchasing, VDC, prefabrication, and field operations to support project delivery.
Ensure project correspondence, scope changes, commitments, and milestones are documented and communicated.
Lead recovery plans when project performance falls behind expectations.
Own branch profit and loss performance, balancing project results with the cost of building and operating the new office.
Review project budgets, labor performance, cost-to-complete forecasts, and monthly financial reports.
Hold project teams accountable for timely billing, change order pricing and recovery, receivable collection, and closeout of retainage.
Identify contract, schedule, manpower, and procurement risks before they affect project results.
Review financial variances and corrective actions with executive leadership.
Obtain required approvals before accepting contract terms or making commitments outside delegated authority.
Serve as the senior local contact for clients, general contractors, and project partners.
Build relationships that support successful delivery, repeat business, and responsible growth in the Space Coast market.
Stay engaged with client priorities, upcoming work, and concerns affecting current projects.
Partner with estimating and executive leadership to evaluate opportunities, develop proposals, and review pricing and scope.
Match new work commitments to the branch’s staffing, supervision, and execution capacity.
Recruit, develop, and retain project management, field supervision, and craft personnel.
Build a local workforce while coordinating traveling personnel and shared resources as needed.
Plan staffing across projects to support schedules and avoid gaps in field leadership.
Provide clear expectations, timely feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Develop future leaders and address performance issues directly and consistently.
Coordinate with clients and site representatives on applicable access, badging, security, delivery, and work authorization requirements.
Account for site operating restrictions and approved work windows in project schedules and manpower plans.
Ensure teams understand project-specific procedures for shutdowns, outages, testing, and work around active facilities.
Plan material deliveries, staging, and mobilization around site requirements.
Communicate changes in access or site operations promptly and adjust execution plans with the project team.
Put safety ahead of production and profit, and support stopping work when conditions are unsafe.
Hold project and field leaders accountable for company safety programs and site-specific requirements.
Partner with safety personnel to address hazards, review incidents, and complete corrective actions.
Maintain quality standards through installation planning, inspections, testing, and closeout.
Address rework and recurring issues at their source and share lessons across branch projects.
