About The Position

Plans, directs, and manages the marketing, sales, business development, and services activities of the branch to achieve customer sales, deposit growth, financial, and marketing goals. Oversees and ensures the branch's service quality, physical security, audit integrity, and efficient performance of personnel. Maintains communication between the branch and upper management, providing support, guidance, and training to staff. Accountable for adhering to the Bank’s BSA, AML, and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFCA) applicable policies, including reporting suspicious activity and completing mandatory training. Employees must comply with all requirements related to the Secure and Fair Enforcement Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), including obtaining and maintaining an active NMLSR record and completing continuing education.

Requirements

  • Must comply with all requirements related to the Secure and Fair Enforcement Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and its corresponding regulations, including obtaining and maintaining an active record and unique identifier within the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR), and continuing to meet associated minimum register standards, including any applicable continuing education courses set forth by the Safe Act.
  • Three years of experience in a similar job or equivalent combination of education and experience in the banking and/or lending industry.
  • Prior managerial experience.
  • Good understanding of financial products, loan documentation, and business objectives of a real-estate lending department.
  • Successful completion of approved real-estate training program.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Solicits business relationships including deposits, loans, and treasury services.
  • Develops and refers loan leads for commercial and residential lending areas, pursuing lending business development activities in partnership with Commercial, Residential, and Business Bankers.
  • Executes integrated sales and relationship strategies aligned with the area business plan to achieve desired revenue and service hurdles.
  • Provides Treasury and Lending Specialists with qualified referrals for cross-selling and assists in closing deals across all products.
  • Uses sound judgment in qualifying potential customers/deals and recommending appropriate financial solutions/products.
  • Partners with other departments to ensure ongoing and appropriate communication to support overall client and franchise objectives.
  • Organizes the internal sales environment and completes external sales calls and business development activities through telemarketing, direct mail, and external business development.
  • Ensures effective customer retention and growth through ongoing sales and servicing initiatives.
  • Maintains frequent interaction with centers of influence, diverse industry segments, community leaders, regulators, and senior business contacts.
  • Creates local community awareness of the bank's focus on community partnerships and providing multi-product banking solutions to middle market companies.
  • Ensures implementation of the Bank’s customer service philosophy for total customer satisfaction.
  • Handles customer situations beyond the scope of branch personnel and ensures timely service.
  • Resolves personnel-related problems.
  • Trains and develops branch personnel to facilitate all retail services and develops lending knowledge in the branch.
  • Responsible for approvals beyond subordinates’ authorities, judiciously using provided authorities, and approving overdrafts and payments against uncollected funds within authorities.
  • Directs analysis of service charges waivers, waiver deletion, and other customer profitability factors.
  • Maximizes income and controls branch expenses.
  • Completes employee performance evaluations, ensures the selection/hiring of high-quality customer-oriented personnel, and trains and develops subordinates for career progression.
  • Ensures appropriate training for branch employees on new regulatory issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Approves and reviews branch monthly reports for completion, timeliness, and accuracy, and prepares management reports.
  • Ensures appropriate audit systems are in place and that institution policies and procedures are enforced.
  • Addresses and resolves marketing-related problems and generates ideas for improving sales/operational issues with bank management.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors sales and service plans.
  • Directs branch daily operational activities through personnel, reviewing decisions and actions to ensure compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Handles customer problems and complaints through effective problem resolution skills, counseling customers, and providing branch policy interpretations adhering to Bank standards.
  • Ensures institution compliance with regulatory issues.
  • Opens and closes the branch, staying abreast of security policies and procedures.
  • Balances the ATM teller machine.
  • Manages the sell and purchase of cash between tellers and vault.
