About The Position

Great River Learning (GRL) is seeking an Acquisitions Manager to develop new business opportunities with colleges and universities in an assigned Florida territory. The manager interviews professors and recruits select candidates to become GRL authors, with a focus on educators teaching lower-level, higher-enrollment courses. GRL develops interactive, media-rich publications and may market successful local publications nationally. This is a remote position with eight weeks of overnight travel each semester to college campuses in Florida. Travel takes place from late August through late November and from January through late April. During travel periods, the workweek begins Sunday and concludes Friday, with meetings on campus throughout the week. Great River Learning is a higher education company that creates publications incorporating videos, animations, and interactive exercises. Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
Two years of sales experience.
Valid driver's license.
Competitive, highly organized, and self-driven.
Able to hold oneself accountable through leadership, motivation, and purpose.
Positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

Proactively plan and schedule the week by emailing and calling contacts to arrange meetings.
Conduct meetings to interview professors, identify business opportunities, and recruit selected professors as GRL authors.
While traveling, make additional calls to high-priority contacts or department chairs to use campus time effectively.
Follow up with prospective and existing authors.
Maintain CRM notes and next steps for prospective, in-development, and existing publications so the employee and in-house team have the information they need.
