About The Position

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of multiple construction sites or projects within a designated geographic area. This role involves managing field staff, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, monitoring project timelines and budgets, and fostering client relationships. The Branch Manager will work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of equivalent work experience in Construction and/or Equipment, Trucking leasing/rental field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in construction/equipment sales role required.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, budgeting, and project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Construction or equipment rental and leasing experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a diverse work environment; ability to connect with key decision makers as well as field operation contacts.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Weekend on-call availability required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction projects within the assigned area.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee resource allocation and adjust as needed to meet project demands.
  • Lead and mentor field operators/personnel.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and identify training or development needs.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage employees in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Review and approve project expenses, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Review the branch’s monthly P&L with senior management, explaining variances against budget and prior periods, and monitor accounts receivable aging to keep collections current.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients within the designated area.
  • Regularly update clients on project status, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Ensure that all work meets or exceeds the company’s quality standards.
  • Address any issues related to workmanship and ensure timely resolution of any defects or concerns.
  • Coordinate with customers and field personnel to ensure safety and quality specifications/requirements are being met.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, change orders, inspections, and other critical documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on project risks, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve conflicts or issues that arise between or amongst field personnel, clients, and/or subcontractors.
  • Ensure contingency plans are in place to address potential project delays or obstacles.
  • Maintain and record Inventory equipment, attachments, and parts for equipment within the operating region.
  • Accountable for directing operations in moving and setting up cranes on bare or manned projects.
  • Provide direction through communication with dispatch, sales, and management for cost accountability during preset-up, delivery and through the job process scope and transportation out.
  • Communicate, track and report equipment activities, including damage, billing, maintenance, and POs with service/shop manager.
  • Maintain solid communication lines between Sales, Shop, Dispatch and Field Operations teams on upcoming projects.
  • Track costs to ensure charges are approved and communicated to Accounts Payable.
