Blended Rice Distributer
About The Position
Riceland Foods is a cooperative owned by 5,500 family farmer members and has supplied rice since 1921. The Blended Rice Distributer takes bin schedules by phone and operates bin gates, spouts, and equipment to ensure the correct product is delivered to the proper bin. The role also measures and records bin volumes, performs routine equipment maintenance, cleans magnets, and keeps the work area clean. The employee is responsible for food safety by following HACCP and food safety policies and procedures, and for plant safety by observing people entering the work area, offering assistance, and reporting unauthorized people to a supervisor. The employee must attend training as required or approved by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Be able to work at heights and ride manlifts.
- Be able to move weights up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to read tape measures and compute volume.
- A one-year college or technical school certificate is preferred, or a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities
- Take bin schedules by phone.
- Open and close bin gates and set spouts.
- Turn equipment off and on to ensure the correct product goes to the proper bin.
- Measure bin volumes and record them as scheduled.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Clean magnets and keep the work area clean.
- Follow HACCP and food safety policies and procedures.
- Observe people entering the work area, offer assistance, and report unauthorized people to a supervisor.
- Attend training as required or approved by the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
