Bistro Host/Hostess - Part Time
About The Position
The Bistro Host/Hostess works at One Bistro inside the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, Massachusetts. The host is the first point of contact for guests and helps create a welcoming dining experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospitality environment. The role includes greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and table flow, answering guest inquiries, and coordinating with the restaurant team to support smooth operations. Additional duties include handling phone calls and takeout and room-service orders, assisting with opening and closing, updating specials, and stocking, organizing, and maintaining a clean and inviting workspace. The position is part-time. Candidates must be available for lunch and dinner shifts, with schedules beginning as early as 10:30 AM and ending as late as 11:00 PM. Weekend availability is required, as is holiday coverage for this 24/7 operation; Christmas Day is the only exception unless an event is scheduled. The hiring range is $16.50 per hour. The position is eligible for Marriott employee discounts at participating hotels after successful completion of ongoing training.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role in a fast-paced restaurant, hospitality, or food-service environment.
- Comfort using OpenTable, Word, and WordPress to update specials.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work with calm urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Careful and mindful work habits to prevent breakage and maintain a safe, organized workspace.

Responsibilities
- Welcome guests, engage in polite conversation, and seat them.
- Answer phones using a proper greeting.
- Take and maintain reservations and guest information in the OpenTable reservation system.
- Take takeout and room-service orders.
- Clean and maintain menus.
- Update specials on the website and prepare, type, and print special sheets.
- Remain focused and on task during busy hours.
- Support opening and closing duties and daily operations, including stocking, organizing, and maintaining a clean, inviting atmosphere.
- Coordinate table flow and work with the restaurant team to provide attentive, seamless service.
