About The Position

This is a Student Worker position in the Biochemistry Lab, with two openings available. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the Biochemistry lab, supporting both the laboratory instructor and students.

Requirements

Successfully completed one year of CHEM 340/342 before applying.
Currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Prepare for laboratory meetings by thoroughly understanding the laboratory manual and procedures.
Familiarize yourself with pre-lab assignments to assist students with their questions.
Arrive on time and be prepared to perform duties.
Assist the laboratory instructor with tasks related to lab delivery.
Receive and adhere to laboratory safety training.
Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing goggles and appropriate clothing.
Circulate among students, assisting with questions and ensuring proper technique.
Correct students exhibiting poor technique and guide them towards the correct way of thinking about problems.
Ensure students return common equipment to the proper location at the end of lab.
Ensure students clean up their work area at the end of lab.
