About The Position

AECOM is seeking a BIM (Digital Design) Specialist to develop and coordinate Building Information Models (BIM) and construction drawings for data center projects. The role requires strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Forma, 3D modeling, drafting, and drawing development, including the ability to turn markups and redlines into accurate, coordinated construction documents. The specialist works independently under the direction of the BIM Manager and collaborates with multidisciplinary project teams. The position is primarily remote and may be based in a variety of U.S. locations where AECOM has an office. Occasional, advance-scheduled travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration, or other business-critical activities. This hands-on, client-facing role supports fast-paced data center projects for global clients and offers an opportunity for upward career mobility. Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; associate’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of relevant experience; or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Strong experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM/CAD tools used for design and building systems applications.
Experience with drafting, construction documentation, and shop drawings.
Ability to develop plans, sections, schedules, and details from markups, redlines, and design direction.
Experience with BIM model coordination, clash detection, and identifying interferences between building systems.
Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation and apply direction to assigned modeling and drafting tasks.
Ability to work independently, manage assigned deliverables, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or other technically complex building projects.
Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, or other construction-focused organization.
Familiarity with construction methods, installation requirements, constructability reviews, and field coordination.
Experience creating Revit content.
Experience developing automation and efficiency tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain BIM models and construction documentation using Autodesk Revit and other applicable BIM/CAD software.
Prepare plans, sections, schedules, details, and related drawings based on engineering markups, redlines, design documents, and technical direction.
Develop and review shop drawings and detailed construction documents to support project execution.
Coordinate models with electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, plumbing, and other building disciplines.
Identify, document, and assist in resolving model clashes, interferences, and constructability issues.
Interpret design intent and translate technical information into accurate, coordinated BIM models and drawings.
Work independently on assigned drafting and modeling tasks and collaborate with project team members to resolve technical questions.
Maintain model accuracy and drawing quality in compliance with project standards, BIM protocols, and documentation requirements.
Support project teams throughout design and construction documentation, incorporating revisions and updates as required.
