About The Position

AECOM is seeking a BIM (Digital Design) Specialist to support design and documentation by developing and coordinating Building Information Models (BIM) and construction drawings. The role calls for strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Forma, 3D modeling, drafting, and drawing development, including translating markups and redlines into accurate, coordinated construction documents. The specialist works independently under the direction of the BIM Manager and collaborates with multidisciplinary project teams to support project delivery. This is a primarily remote role that may be based in a variety of U.S. locations where AECOM has an office. Occasional, advance-scheduled travel may be required for client meetings, project milestones, onsite collaboration, or other business-critical activities. The role supports high-profile, fast-paced data center projects for global clients and is hands-on and client-facing, with opportunities for career mobility. AECOM requires newly hired employees to attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office. Relocation and U.S. employment authorization sponsorship are not available.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; associate’s degree and 6 years; high school diploma/GED and 8 years; or demonstrated equivalent experience and/or education. An engineering degree is not required.
Strong experience with Autodesk Revit and BIM/CAD tools used for design and building systems applications.
Experience with drafting, construction documentation, and shop drawings.
Ability to develop plans, sections, schedules, and details from markups, redlines, and design direction.
Experience with BIM model coordination, clash detection, and identification of interferences between building systems.
Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation and apply direction to assigned modeling and drafting tasks.
Ability to work independently, manage assigned deliverables, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or other technically complex building projects.
Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, or other construction-focused organization.
Familiarity with construction methods, installation requirements, constructability reviews, and field coordination.
Experience creating Revit content.
Experience developing automation and efficiency tools.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain BIM models and construction documentation using Autodesk Revit and other applicable BIM/CAD software.
Prepare plans, sections, schedules, details, and related drawings based on engineering markups, redlines, design documents, and technical direction.
Develop and review shop drawings and detailed construction documents to support project execution.
Coordinate models with other building disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, structural, architectural, and plumbing systems.
Identify, document, and assist in resolving model clashes, interferences, and constructability issues.
Interpret design intent and translate technical information into accurate, coordinated BIM models and drawings.
Complete assigned drafting and modeling tasks independently and collaborate with project team members to resolve technical questions.
Maintain model accuracy and drawing quality and comply with project standards, BIM protocols, and documentation requirements.
Support project teams throughout design and construction documentation, incorporating revisions and updates as required.
