About The Position

The Beverage Server serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to Guests on the casino floor, whether purchased or complimentary. The role includes taking orders, delivering beverages, facilitating food orders when applicable, processing payments, and ensuring Guest satisfaction while following alcohol-service regulations. The Beverage Server maintains the assigned area, collects glassware from the casino floor, and provides friendly, professional service while anticipating Guest needs. The position follows Company standards, policies, and procedures and reports directly to the Beverage Supervisor. The role requires frequent interaction with Guests and fellow Team Members in a casino environment. Work is performed onsite in Madera, California, and may take place in unusually hot, cold, noisy, or confined areas where secondhand smoke may be present. Duties may include trained chemical usage. Shifts may vary and include days, evenings, graveyard shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, including passing a background investigation.
Current Food Handler certification and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate required, or ability to acquire them; the employer will provide them upon hire.
Ability to stand for long periods and carry trays of drinks.
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for the duration of a shift.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with or without assistance.
Manual dexterity to perform job-related functions.
Ability to accurately take orders, handle payments, and maintain cleanliness.
Ability to handle multiple orders, track inventory, and manage cash transactions simultaneously.
Ability to handle Guest complaints, resolve issues, and make sound decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with relevant responsible beverage service and gaming regulations and Company policies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for Guest interaction, rapport-building, and providing a positive experience.
Passion for Guest service and teamwork.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
At least two years of experience in a full-service, Guest-facing food and beverage environment preferred.
Beverage experience in a casino environment preferred.
Comprehensive beverage knowledge with some culinary background or experience preferred.
Familiarity with different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including mixed drinks and popular brands.
Proficiency in handling cash transactions, making change, and balancing cash drawers.

Responsibilities

Practice, support, and promote North Fork Mono Casino's culture and Service Standards.
Greet Guests, take drink orders, and deliver beverages efficiently and courteously.
Facilitate food-order requests when applicable.
Provide friendly, professional service; address and resolve Guest complaints in a timely manner and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
Build relationships with players and Guests, understand their needs, and provide excellent service.
Maintain knowledge of drink menus, beer options, liquor selections, wines by the glass, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Attend daily beverage-team huddles to review special events, assignments, and relevant information.
Accurately ring up orders, handle cash and credit-card transactions, and balance cash drawers if applicable.
Comply with responsible beverage service requirements, gaming regulations, and Company policies.
Promote and suggest drinks to Guests to increase sales.
Verify that Guests consuming alcoholic beverages are of legal drinking age.
Communicate effectively with bartenders, kitchen staff, and other Team Members.
Treat everyone with care, dignity, fairness, and respect.
Maintain cleanliness of the assigned area and collect glassware from the casino floor.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
