About The Position

The Beverage Cocktail Server provides fast, friendly, and courteous service by taking and serving beverage orders to customers, including complimentary beverages to guests in slot and pit areas. The role may be assigned to a dining room, lounge, or casino floor and involves communicating with guests, remembering their orders, processing checks and payments, and keeping the service station clean, sanitary, and stocked. Servers also share information about casino promotions, events, and facilities, and must recognize when a customer is too intoxicated to continue being served. All duties must be performed in accordance with Seneca Gaming Corporation policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives. The position operates on a 24-hour schedule. The casino environment is usually moderately loud and can be loud on the casino floor; smoking is permitted. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old upon employment.
Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and a cheerful, accommodating disposition.
Must adhere to the SGC Shoe policy for Beverage Cocktail Servers.
Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Must be able to interact effectively with customers and employees and resolve problems or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
Must maintain physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and deal effectively with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community.
Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two years of previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Take beverage orders from guests in an assigned dining room, lounge, or casino-floor area.
Present beverage orders to the bartender or service bar and write checks properly.
Serve beverages, present checks, accept payment, and provide change when needed.
Garnish drink orders and deliver drinks to players, including balancing trays weighing up to ten pounds when full while serving with the other hand.
Circulate throughout the assigned station, announce “cocktails,” take orders, and remember customers and their drinks.
Maintain the server’s station in a neat, clean, sanitary, and fully stocked condition; make coffee and refill containers as needed.
Provide customers with information about casino promotions, events, food service, and other facilities.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner with patrons, supervisors, managers, and staff.
Comply with information-security policies and procedures, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
Meet attendance guidelines and comply with regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Complete required SGC training programs within nine months of commencing employment and attend necessary meetings.
Reach and bend between players to serve drinks, collect empty glasses, and clean ashtrays.
Walk continuously up and down short stairs or ramps and clean up glasses in the surrounding area at the end of the shift.
Recognize when a customer is too intoxicated to be served further.
