About The Position

The Bellhop helps guests with their baggage while providing excellent customer service. The role includes transporting luggage to and from guest rooms, assisting with luggage storage and retrieval, informing guests about hotel facilities and services, and supporting room changes while maintaining room key security. The position requires working both inside and outside, sometimes in a cigarette smoke environment.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• At least one year of customer service experience in a previous position where the primary job duty was direct customer service is required.
• Must be able to lift baggage weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Must have a proven ability to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
• Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as part of a team.
• Must present a well-groomed appearance.
• Must be able to work and maneuver quickly inside and outside.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Must be able to push and/or pull heavy rolling loads in excess of 300 pounds.
• Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Must be able to speak English clearly.

Nice To Haves

• One year of previous experience as a Bell Person is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and converse in English with customers who need assistance with their baggage.
• Accurately deliver bags to and from guest rooms.
• Pick up guests' luggage upon departure and transport it to the front drive area or deliver it for storage.
• Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
• Inform guests about the hotel's available facilities and services.
• Assist guests with room changes and maintain room key security.
• Participate in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Complete required room slip information and submit it to the Bell Captain after each front.
• Store and retrieve luggage in the luggage room as assigned by the Bell Captain.
