Behavioral Health Nurse IDD
About The Position
ViaQuest Psychiatric & Behavioral Solutions provides individualized care to children, adolescents, adults, older adults, people with developmental disabilities, and people who have experienced extreme trauma. Clients are supported by a team that includes mental health counselors, social workers, certified nurse practitioners, case managers, and psychiatrists. The Behavioral Health Nurse addresses clients’ behavioral and physical health needs while they receive treatment for psychiatric symptoms. The role includes health screenings, vital-sign checks, medication administration and monitoring, client education, gathering client history, coordinating community services, and helping clients build interpersonal and emotional-regulation skills. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no weekends. The posting lists compensation of $23–$25 per hour for an LPN and $64,000–$71,000 per year for an RN.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- RN license.
- Experience in psychiatric, mental, and behavioral health services.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area.

Responsibilities
- Address the behavioral and physical health needs of clients receiving treatment for psychiatric symptoms.
- Perform health care screenings and check vital signs.
- Administer injections and other medications as needed.
- Monitor and administer medication.
- Educate clients on pharmaceuticals.
- Gather client information and history from the Nurse Practitioner.
- Perform case management duties, including coordination of community services.
- Assist clients in building skills in emotion, stress, and anger management, communication, and interpersonal relationships.
