About The Position

ViaQuest Psychiatric & Behavioral Solutions provides individualized care to people across age groups, including individuals with developmental disabilities and people affected by extreme trauma. The Behavioral Health Nurse addresses clients’ behavioral and physical health needs while they receive treatment for psychiatric symptoms. The role includes clinical care, medication support, client education, case management, and help building life skills. The service area includes Brooklyn Heights and Cleveland.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license.
• Experience in psychiatric, mental, and behavioral health services.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area.

Responsibilities

• Address the behavioral and physical health needs of clients receiving treatment for psychiatric symptoms.
• Perform health care screenings and check vital signs.
• Administer injections and other medications as needed.
• Monitor and administer medication.
• Educate clients on pharmaceuticals.
• Gather client information and history from the Nurse Practitioner.
• Perform case management duties, including coordinating community services.
• Assist clients in building skills in emotion, stress, and anger management, communication, and interpersonal relationships.
