About The Position

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students as they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. The Group Leader helps shape meaningful before- and after-school experiences that support children's learning, growth, and well-being. The position is at Florence Bowser Elementary School in Suffolk, Virginia, and is part-time. The posting lists AM hours Monday through Friday, 6:15 a.m.–9:15 a.m., and PM hours Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Pay is listed as $16.00 hourly in the opening details and $18.00 per hour in the Pay & Benefits section, with a $200 hiring bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (high school diploma or GED) required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Six months of experience instructing children in a group setting.
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
• Make child safety the top priority at all times.
• Keep the space clean and organized.
• Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
• Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
