Before and After school Group Leader
About The Position
AlphaBEST Education is hiring a part-time Before and After School Group Leader at Swanson Elementary School in Arvada, Colorado. The organization provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to engage students in learning beyond the school day. The Group Leader leads students through before- and after-school activities and helps create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. The schedule is Monday through Friday. The AM shift is 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 or 8:30 a.m., and/or the PM shift is 2:00 or 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The role requires experience working with children ages 4 and older, with at least 460 verifiable hours, and the ability to meet applicable Colorado childcare licensing documentation requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- At least 460 verifiable hours of experience with children ages 4 and older.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs.
- Proof of experience, including verification of hours, as required by Colorado childcare licensing regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
- Make child safety the top priority at all times.
- Keep the space clean and organized.
- Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
- Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
