Before and After School Group Leader Assistant/Early Learning Professional
About The Position
AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to engage students in a fun, safe environment. The Group Leader Assistant supports meaningful before- and after-school experiences that help children learn, grow, and thrive. This role assists with curriculum activities and helps maintain a safe, clean, organized, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment while building positive relationships with children, families, teammates, and school staff. The position is at Kingsford Elementary School in Mitchellville, Maryland, with a Monday through Friday afternoon schedule from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pay is $15.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Three to six months of childcare experience in a licensed setting.
- Enjoy working with children in a structured, high-energy environment.
- Take child safety seriously and follow procedures closely.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
- Encourage positive peer interactions.
- Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures closely.
- Keep the space clean and organized.
- Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
- Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
- Be flexible, reliable, and ready to help wherever needed.
