About The Position

AlphaBEST Education is hiring Group Leaders for before- and after-school programs at elementary schools in Highland Park, Illinois. The programs provide extended-day, summer, and enrichment activities designed to engage students in a fun and safe environment. Group Leaders lead students through daily curriculum activities and help create supportive, inclusive experiences while building relationships with children, families, teammates, and school staff. The role offers hands-on experience and training for people interested in education, leadership, or related fields.

The posted schedule is 6:45–8:15 a.m. and 2:45–6:00 p.m. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. This position is described as part-time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Enjoy working with children in a structured, high-energy environment.
• Take child safety seriously and follow procedures closely.
• Be flexible, reliable, and ready to help wherever needed.

• Students studying education, child development, psychology, social work, recreation, or youth development may find the role especially relevant.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
• Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures closely.
• Keep the program space clean and organized.
• Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
• Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
