About The Position

The Beauty Counter Manager at Nordstrom’s Beauty Department serves as both a salesperson and teacher, creating personalized beauty experiences and maximizing sales for the assigned beauty brand. The role is suited to a results-oriented person who enjoys commissioned sales, follows beauty trends, and builds customer relationships both in-store and digitally. The position is based in Downtown Seattle and involves customer service, beauty product recommendations, sales goals, vendor events, and maintaining the counter.

Ability to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals.
Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers.
Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools, including text and social media.
Manage the scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions.
Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize business results.
Keep the department organized, clean, and customer-ready.
Keep up with beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through Nordstrom and luxury brand partner training.
Manage sales, refunds, and exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening Nordstrom Rewards accounts.
