About The Position

The Beauty Counter Manager serves as both a salesperson and teacher in Nordstrom’s Beauty Department, creating personalized beauty experiences and maximizing sales for the assigned beauty brand. The role involves helping customers meet their beauty goals, building a customer following in-store and digitally, and contributing to a welcoming and inclusive team environment. The position is based at the La Prairie counter in Downtown Portland.

Responsibilities

• Conduct makeup applications and skincare analyses, and recommend products based on customers’ beauty goals.
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for customers.
• Set and achieve personal and counter sales goals using in-store and digital selling tools, including text and social media.
• Manage the scheduling and execution of vendor events and promotions.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to maximize business results.
• Keep the department organized, clean, and customer-ready.
• Stay informed about beauty trends, products, and industry knowledge through Nordstrom and luxury brand partner trainings.
• Manage sales, refunds, and exchanges, and build customer loyalty by opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts.
