About The Position

As a Battery Sorter, you will identify and sort batteries based on their chemistry or type. You will tape battery terminals and pack batteries using bags and boxes. The role involves warehouse work, including handling and documenting materials, following safety procedures, and maintaining a clean work area. Some locations may require operating a forklift to transfer material.

Requirements

• Frequently lift 10–40 pounds individually and over 40 pounds with a team member.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic math skills.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Follow warehouse safety procedures and processes, making health and safety the number one goal.
• Identify and sort batteries by chemistry.
• Tape battery terminals or ends.
• Sort out debris and non-conforming material.
• Store batteries and non-conforming material in drums.
• Label drums according to regulations and guidelines.
• Weigh and document material.
• Perform general cleaning.
• Comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Sit or stand for most of the shift.
• Operate a forklift to transfer material at locations where required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
