About The Position

McMenamins Kennedy School is hiring a bartender. Bartenders may be asked to handle every task involved in opening and closing the bar, including serving food and beverages, cashiering, and maintaining customer relations. The work is physically demanding and requires mental agility, effective multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and the ability to work in both smoking and non-smoking environments. Bartenders must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card.
• Obtain and maintain a current OLCC card.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and multitask.
• Work well independently and as a member of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience is preferred.
• A flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.
• Enjoy working in a busy, customer service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and pour and serve beer, wine, and spirits.
• Operate a cash register and/or POS system and handle all cashiering duties.
• Wait on and bus tables.
• Do dishes and restock supplies.
• Perform general cleaning and complete the books after shifts.
• Maintain customer relations.
• Handle tasks involved in opening and closing the bar.
