About The Position

The Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership is hiring a Science Teacher for grades 6–8 at J.F. Kennedy Middle School. Educators are responsible for providing strong instruction, fostering students’ sense of belonging, and preparing them for meaningful academic and life opportunities. They serve as instructors, mentors, and collaborators in school communities that emphasize strong relationships, clear expectations, and continuous improvement for students and adults. The teacher will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction using research-based curriculum and effective strategies; design lessons and supports so students can access grade-level content; and use student data and formative assessment to guide instruction. The role also involves building trusting relationships, contributing to a positive school culture, collaborating with colleagues and co-teaching teams, and engaging families as partners.
