About The Position

The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, including catering orders. The role follows approved recipes, production standards, food-safety requirements, and HACCP guidelines. It also provides courteous customer service, processes payments, maintains attractive food displays, and keeps the service area, equipment, and supplies clean and orderly. The position is located at Cigna, 900 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield, Connecticut. The full-time schedule is Monday and Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The pay range is $20.00–$22.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Barista experience required.
• Front-of-house experience required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining a clean service area.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures while following HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction.
• Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
• Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
• Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
