Barista (Full Time)
About The Position
Canteen is hiring a full-time Barista at Raymond James, 880 Carillon Parkway, Saint Petersburg, Florida. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fixed pay rate is $18.00 per hour. The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverages, including catering orders. The role handles food according to HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards, maintains clean and orderly work areas and equipment, and interacts courteously with customers and coworkers to support a positive customer experience. Canteen provides workplace food and beverage solutions, including markets, office coffee and snacks, unattended retail, and culinary services. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Requirements
- Previous barista experience is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
- Maintain presentation, portion control, and proper serving temperatures in accordance with HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction.
- Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
