BARISTA (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Barista prepares and serves coffee and espresso drinks, along with related food and beverage items, including orders for customers and catering. The role handles food according to HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards, uses approved recipes and production standards, and ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures. It also involves accurately entering orders and accepting payments, maintaining clean and orderly service areas and equipment, and providing courteous, efficient customer service. The Barista explains menu items, supports customers’ purchasing decisions, and relays relevant customer concerns to supervisors. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- One to three years of barista experience is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Accurately enter orders into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction.
- Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Use selling techniques and good communication to assist customers with buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
