About The Position

Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa is seeking a talented, enthusiastic Barista who is passionate about coffee, provides excellent customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Barista helps create memorable guest experiences by preparing high-quality coffee beverages and providing exceptional service. This seasonal winter opportunity runs from late November through early April. Because the Ranch operates 24 hours a day, a guaranteed work schedule is not provided; managers may try to accommodate schedule requests, but accommodation is not guaranteed when business volume prevents it. Other duties may be assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences, support peak periods, or balance workloads.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated reliability and dependability in previous work experiences.
  • Passion for coffee and knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and willingness to contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Availability to work flexible and varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift or carry 20–30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Food safety certification, such as ServSafe, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support store procedures, including opening or closing, cash handling, and safety and security.
  • Support fellow team members during high-volume periods to keep the store operating.
  • Anticipate and address customer and store needs by becoming familiar with the store environment and its customers.
  • Help create a welcoming environment during each shift.
  • Deliver customer-focused service and build genuine connections with customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace for customers and team members.
  • Consistently prepare and provide quality beverages, whole-bean coffee, and food products in accordance with recipe and presentation standards.

  • Winter Park Resort ski pass starting as low as $250 with employer match.
  • Grand County Rec Center six-month pass for $137.50.
  • Employee discounts on lodging, food, gear, and lessons.
  • Retail and gear discounts on essential equipment.
  • Discounted resort room rates for employees, friends, and family, subject to availability.
  • Complimentary Nordic ski passes and equipment, subject to availability.
  • Discounted Ranch Creek Spa treatments.
  • Free mountain bike trail pass and 25% off rentals.
  • Free employee shuttle from staff housing to work and key county locations.
  • Employee events, social activities, gatherings, and community celebrations.
  • Affordable housing is mentioned in the job description.
