About The Position

Blue Bottle Coffee is seeking a Barista passionate about coffee, culinary items, sustainability, and creating guest experiences grounded in care and respect. Baristas create community through coffee while supporting the cafe team and delivering inclusive hospitality.

The role involves preparing and serving beverages and food, sharing knowledge of Blue Bottle’s offerings, and maintaining quality through regular tasting. Baristas also complete the tasks that keep the cafe clean and organized, follow health and safety requirements, promote a respectful workplace, and support company sustainability goals. New hires complete Blue Bottle Academy training and a 90-day validation.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Have basic math and computer skills.
• Have a flexible schedule and be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Be reliable, punctual, and consistent.
• Be thoughtful and able to anticipate guests’ needs.
• Have a can-do attitude and be open to new experiences.
• Be able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Use hands to reach, grip, turn, and perform precision work.
• Squat, bend, twist, and reach below waist level or above shoulders as needed.
• Lift, push or pull, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Climb ladders, stairs, and ramps and navigate uneven floors or surfaces as needed.
• Be able to smell and taste, and listen and speak.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional hospitality to guests, teammates, vendors, and suppliers.
• Prepare and serve beverages using different brewing and preparation methods.
• Prepare and serve food.
• Stay knowledgeable about current food and beverage offerings and preparation techniques through tastings, cuppings, and training.
• Taste beverages regularly to ensure quality, uphold standards, and develop product knowledge.
• Share coffee knowledge with guests and encourage teammates to do the same.
• Perform cafe upkeep, including cleaning, dishwashing, sweeping, dusting, mopping, organizing condiment stations, and taking out trash.
• Help achieve company-wide sustainability goals.
• Follow health, food safety, and other safety guidelines.
• Promote a safe and respectful working environment.
• Complete Blue Bottle Academy training and 90-day validation after hire.
