About The Position

At Blue Bottle Coffee, Baristas are passionate about coffee, culinary items, sustainability, and creating guest experiences grounded in care and respect. The role contributes to community through coffee and supports the cafe team in delivering high-quality beverages, food, and hospitality. Baristas complete Blue Bottle Academy training and a 90-day post-hire validation.

Requirements

• Be eligible to work in the United States and at least 18 years old.
• Have basic math and computer skills.
• Have a flexible schedule and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Be reliable, punctual, and consistent.
• Be thoughtful and able to anticipate guests’ needs.
• Be detail-oriented and interested in honing craft.
• Have a can-do attitude and be excited to take on new experiences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional hospitality to guests, teammates, vendors, and suppliers.
• Prepare and serve beverages using a variety of brewing and preparation methods.
• Prepare and serve food.
• Stay knowledgeable about current beverage and food offerings and preparation techniques, and continue developing knowledge through tastings, cuppings, and trainings.
• Taste beverages regularly to ensure quality, uphold standards, and develop palate.
• Build community in cafes by sharing coffee knowledge and enthusiasm with guests and teammates.
• Support cafe operations through tasks such as cleaning, clearing and washing dishes, sweeping, dusting, mopping, organizing condiment stations, and taking out trash.
• Help achieve company-wide sustainability goals.
• Follow health, food safety, and safety guidelines.
• Promote a safe and respectful working environment.
• Complete Blue Bottle Academy training and 90-day post-hire validation.
