BARISTA (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Barista at UChicago Medicine Advent Health Hospital in La Grange, Illinois. The position prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverages while following HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards. The Barista interacts courteously with customers and coworkers, supports efficient service, and maintains clean, orderly, and attractive service and display areas. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The listed pay range is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Morrison Healthcare is part of Compass Group and provides culinary, nutritional, and operational services to health systems. Requirements
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Previous barista experience is preferred.
- Previous Starbucks experience is preferred.
- A valid Food Handler's card is preferred.
- Must be able to perform the position's essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies, while keeping the service area clean.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, and follow HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Greet customers courteously, interact with them to support satisfaction, and relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
