About The Position

The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items, following standard recipes and HACCP food-handling guidelines. The role includes taking and entering customer orders, processing payments, maintaining clean and orderly work areas and equipment, and providing courteous, efficient customer service. The position is full time at Sony in Foster City, California, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule; hours may vary. Previous barista experience is required. The pay range is $19.50 to $23.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining a clean service area.
Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction; relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with purchasing decisions.
Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
