About The Position
The Barista prepares and serves coffee and espresso drinks, along with related food and beverage items, while following HACCP guidelines and food-service quality standards. The role includes serving customers courteously, maintaining a clean and orderly service area, and ensuring items are presented attractively and at proper temperatures. The position is located at Sony in Foster City, California, and is full time, Monday through Friday, with hours that may vary. More schedule details are provided during the interview.
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Enter orders accurately into a POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
- Maintain the sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction.
- Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
