BARISTA (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Barista prepares and serves coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items for customers and catering. The role handles food according to HACCP guidelines and quality food-service standards, and interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly, courteous manner to support customer satisfaction and efficient service. This is a full-time position at Brown Brothers Harriman, 185 Hudson Street, 10th Floor, Jersey City, New Jersey. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:15 PM. The fixed pay rate is $22.00 per hour. Previous food service experience is required.

- Must be able to perform the position's essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Follow company policies and procedures for protective gloves, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while keeping the service area clean.
- Ensure proper food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
- Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
- Thoroughly clean equipment and the workstation before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Greet customers courteously and interact with them to ensure satisfaction; relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently and prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Use selling techniques, communicate with customers, and assist with their buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
