About The Position

Provide superior customer service while maintaining a clean and attractive outlet for guests. Greet customers promptly and warmly, understand their requests, prepare orders accurately and efficiently, and ensure guest satisfaction. Process guest checks and payments correctly, maintain product-preparation standards, and follow accounting procedures for payments, tips, cash drawers, and house banks. Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment, balance the house bank at the end of the shift, follow attendance rules, and perform other assigned job-related duties.

Requirements

Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks and the bank, prepare cash drops, total other charges, and understand portion sizes in relation to pricing.
Ability to operate a keyboard and follow Point of Sale procedures.
Ability to effectively handle and resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check totals.
Ability to sit and/or stand and work continually in confined spaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome; communicate clearly and listen to and understand requests.
Prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently as requested.
Ring guest checks correctly and close them using the appropriate payment method, including cash, credit card, or house charge.
Ensure guest satisfaction and tactfully negotiate resolutions when guests are dissatisfied.
Maintain the highest standards for product preparation.
Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, equipment, service stations, or seating areas.
Follow accounting guidelines for receiving payments, verifying check totals, disbursing tips, and managing the cash drawer and house bank.
Balance the house bank at the end of the shift and retrieve and return it to the vault, maintaining accountability.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
