About The Position

The Barista/IRD provides superior customer service while maintaining a clean and attractive outlet for guests. The role involves greeting customers, taking and accurately preparing orders, processing payments, resolving guest concerns, maintaining product-preparation standards, and following cash-handling and accounting procedures. The position also includes cleaning work and service areas and performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count the bank, prepare cash drops, total other charges, and understand portion sizes in relation to pricing.
Ability to operate a keyboard and follow Point of Sale procedures.
Ability to effectively handle and resolve conflict situations, such as inaccurate check totals.
Ability to sit and/or stand and work continually in confined spaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Greet customers promptly with a friendly and sincere welcome.
Listen to and understand customer requests, using a positive and clear speaking voice.
Prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently while maintaining high product-preparation standards.
Ring guest checks correctly and close them using the proper payment method, including cash, credit card, or house charge.
Ensure guest satisfaction and tactfully negotiate resolutions when guests are dissatisfied.
Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, equipment, service stations, or seating areas.
Follow accounting guidelines for receiving payments, verifying check totals, disbursing tips, and managing the cash drawer and house bank.
Balance the house bank at the end of the shift.
Retrieve the bank from the vault for the workstation and return it afterward, maintaining accountability.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
