About The Position
The Merriest Bar is a Christmas-themed pop-up at Shotski's Alpine Lodge Bar in San Francisco, operating during the November–December holiday season. The bar serves seasonal cocktails in holiday-themed vessels amid festive décor, Christmas movies, and holiday music. The Barback supports bartenders and bar operations, maintaining clean and organized work areas and ensuring supplies are available. Typical hours are between 3:30 pm and 2:30 am. Applicants may have experience in the restaurant, bar, or hotel industries, or be eager to learn. The role requires a California Food Handler’s Certification and RBS training, or a willingness to obtain them. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and able to lift 40 pounds without assistance.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Basic math skills or ability to use a calculator and understand proportions.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handler’s Certification and RBS training.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the restaurant, bar, or hotel industries; applicants eager to learn are also welcome.
Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders with daily service.
- Maintain overall bar cleanliness.
- Prepare batches and other cocktail ingredients.
- Wash and organize glassware.
- Retrieve bar stock and maintain adequate levels.
- Clean as part of opening and closing duties.
