About The Position

The Merriest Bar is a Christmas-themed pop-up at Shotski's Alpine Lodge Bar in San Francisco, operating during the November–December holiday season. The Host welcomes guests to the holiday experience and supports the restaurant and floor team with guest arrivals, seating, inquiries, and opening or closing tasks. The role is suited to candidates with restaurant, bar, or hotel experience, as well as people eager to learn. Typical hours are between 3:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Requirements

• Ability to adapt to a variety of guest service needs.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handler’s Certification and pass RBS training.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to stand for 8–10 hours.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the beverage or hospitality industry is preferred.
• Experience using Yelp Guest Manager is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use the reservation platform to track guest arrivals and departures.
• Qualify guests' identification.
• Actively greet and seat guests, and communicate their status to the floor team.
• Answer phone calls, emails, and event inquiries.
• Assist with opening and end-of-day closeout as necessary.
