BAR SERVER (PART TIME)
About The Position
Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring a part-time Bar Server at Genentech in South San Francisco, California. The role involves mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The listed schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM; further details will be provided during the interview. The position pays $22.00 to $23.00 per hour. Previous bar and serving experience and a valid Food Handler's card are required. The job summary also describes preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and related food and beverage items; handling food according to HACCP guidelines; interacting with customers and coworkers courteously; processing orders and payments; maintaining clean and orderly work areas and equipment; and supporting customer satisfaction and efficient service.
Requirements
- Previous bar and serving experience is required.
- A valid Food Handler's card is required.
Responsibilities
- Mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Enter orders accurately into the POS device and accept cash and charge payments.
- Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining a clean service area.
- Ensure proper presentation, portion control, serving temperatures, and compliance with HACCP standards.
- Maintain the sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies, and utensils.
- Prepare food using approved recipes and prescribed production standards.
- Keep display equipment clean during meal service and clean equipment and workstations before leaving the area.
- Greet customers courteously, support customer satisfaction, and relay relevant concerns to supervisors.
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently to prevent delays in serving lines.
- Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
- Communicate with customers and assist with their buying decisions.
- Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly according to standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
