About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the bar, including managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting bartenders. The Bar Back plays a crucial part in upholding service standards and assisting with guest orders during busy periods.

Requirements

Ability to keep bar stations fully stocked.
Ability to cover other bars during breaks.
Ability to empty trash as necessary.
Ability to keep bar surfaces clean and organized.
Ability to clean garnish trays and bottles.
Ability to keep floors clean and presentable.
Ability to prepare fruit garnishes.
Ability to assist bartenders in mixing and preparing bulk alcohol and mix recipes.
Ability to assist bartenders in retrieving or serving beverages.
Ability to assist bartenders with greeting guests and taking drink orders.
Ability to serve and collect payment for drinks.

Responsibilities

Direct smooth, efficient, cost-effective operation, including labor management, supervision of all aspects of services, scheduling, and inventory control.
Ensure all departmental service standards are upheld.
Keeps the bar stations fully stocked (ice, mixes, garnishes, napkins, straws, etc.).
Covers other bars when other Bar Backs are on break.
Empties trash as necessary throughout the shift, and at the end of the shift.
Keeps the bar surfaces clean, wipes down inside of reach-ins and beer coolers to prevent condensation buildup, cleans all garnish trays at the end of each shift or as needed, wipes down all mix containers and alcohol bottles at the end of each shift.
Keeps the floors clean and presentable and ensures that all debris is collected.
Prepares fruit garnishes for each shift and assists Bartenders in mixing and preparing bulk alcohol and mix recipes for volume sale. (Concentrated juices, Sangria, Spiced Cider, etc.)
Assists the Bartender in retrieving or serving beer, sodas, or bottles beverages to guests or Cocktail Servers at the Bartenders direction during volume times.
Assists Bartenders with greeting new guests and obtaining drink orders. May also be required to serve and collect payment for drinks.
