About The Position

The Bar Back supports the Bartender and helps ensure smooth bar operations in a fast-paced environment. The role includes cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, keeping supplies and equipment stocked, and assisting with service. The Bar Back should know menu items, be attentive, and focus on providing the best possible service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience required.
Meet the state minimum age of 18 to serve alcohol.
Be reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfill obligations.
Be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Be a team player.
Strong task and time management abilities.
Attention to detail and understanding of drink-mixing tools.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to maintain composure and control emotions, including in difficult situations.

Responsibilities

Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking garnishes, straws, and napkins and ensuring Bartenders have clean towels and glassware.
Keep the bar stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
Check taps and appliances to confirm they are working properly; make minor repairs or change kegs as needed.
Clean the bar by wiping surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
Clear empty cups and trash from the bar top and tables.
Learn menu items and memorize cocktail recipes; assist the Bartender while learning to use the POS.
Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties.
