About The Position
The Banquet Set Up - On Call at Black Desert Resort is responsible for setting up, breaking down, and maintaining banquet and event spaces. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, this role ensures events are properly prepared and executed while supporting banquet servers, event staff, and clients. The position ensures that event setups meet client expectations and resort standards and that event environments remain clean, organized, and efficient. The role is onsite at Black Desert Resort and is available year-round on call. Pay is $14 per hour plus a portion of setup service charges. Individual compensation decisions may depend on a variety of factors.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow event setup instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to exceptional service.
Nice To Haves
- Previous banquet setup or event operations experience.
- Knowledge of banquet service standards, safety regulations, and hospitality industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down banquet and event spaces, including tables, chairs, staging, and décor, according to event specifications.
- Ensure room layouts, furniture arrangements, and equipment are properly placed for each event.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas and handle equipment properly.
- Assist banquet servers and event staff by ensuring necessary supplies, linens, and equipment are available.
- Respond to last-minute changes, requests, and adjustments to support smooth event execution.
- Assist with loading and unloading event equipment as needed.
- Ensure banquet areas meet safety and sanitation standards and report maintenance issues.
- Work collaboratively with banquet and culinary teams to complete event setup and breakdown on time.
- Support post-event cleanup, reset spaces, and prepare for upcoming functions.
- Uphold Black Desert Resort’s service standards to provide an elevated and seamless guest experience.
- Attend mandatory orientations and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
