About The Position
Black Desert Resort’s Banquet Set Up - On Call position is responsible for setting up, breaking down, and maintaining banquet and event spaces. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, the role helps ensure events are prepared and executed according to client expectations and resort standards, while supporting banquet servers, event staff, and clients. The position maintains a clean, organized, and efficient event environment and upholds the resort’s service standards. This is an onsite, year-round on-call role at Black Desert Resort in Southern Utah. The stated pay rate is $14 per hour plus a portion of set-up service charges. Compensation decisions may depend on a variety of factors. The resort describes a dynamic team environment and opportunities for professional development and advancement within its Food & Beverage and Banquet divisions.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow event setup instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to exceptional service.
Nice To Haves
- Previous banquet setup or event operations experience.
- Knowledge of banquet service standards, safety regulations, and hospitality industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Set up and break down banquet and event spaces, including tables, chairs, staging, and décor, according to event specifications.
- Ensure room layouts, furniture arrangements, and equipment are properly placed for each event.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas and handle equipment properly.
- Support banquet servers and event staff by making necessary supplies, linens, and equipment available.
- Respond to last-minute changes, requests, and adjustments to support smooth event execution.
- Assist with loading and unloading event equipment as needed.
- Ensure banquet areas meet safety and sanitation standards and report maintenance issues.
- Work with banquet and culinary teams to complete event setup and breakdown on time.
- Clean up after events, reset spaces, and prepare for upcoming functions.
- Uphold Black Desert Resort’s service standards and support an elevated guest experience.
- Attend mandatory orientations and trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
