About The Position

The Riverwoods Conference Center is seeking a Banquet Server to join their team. This role involves reviewing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to understand menu details, room setup, food, beverage, and audio-visual needs. The server will assist with setting up tables, buffets, and bars, ensuring the quality and presentation of food before serving, and preparing and serving beverages. Excellent communication with the kitchen regarding any changes is crucial. The ideal candidate will be customer service-focused, possess excellent communication skills, have a strong work ethic, be able to work under pressure, and be flexible with their schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. This role is part of a team dedicated to providing great guest experiences.

• Frequent fine motor skills, use of hands and fingers for keyboarding/typing, utilizing a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed (e.g., files, office supplies).
• Visual ability to read from a computer screen and printed materials including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation (for certain roles).
• Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings, use phone and/or headset

Responsibilities

• Review BEO's for menu details, room setup, food, beverage and audio visual needs.
• Assist the set up staff in table set up, buffet set up, bar set up, etc.
• Check quality and presentation of food before serving.
• Prepare and serve beverages for the function.
• Provide prompt and professional service to all guests.
• Communicate with Kitchen keeping update on any changes.
