About The Position

The On-Call Banquet Server at Bell Harbor International Conference Center creates exceptional guest dining experiences by engaging guests, navigating menu offerings, identifying upselling opportunities, and delivering attentive service. The role is vital to providing a successful dining experience for each guest.

The server takes and serves food and beverage orders according to established standards, enters orders into a computerized Point of Sale system, and communicates special requests to the culinary team. The role also involves assembling some food items, maintaining consistent and attractive presentation, ensuring items are served at the correct temperature, staying informed about menu offerings and availability, processing payments, and keeping work areas clean and organized.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a server in a similar restaurant environment.
• Ability to perform essential functions on a computerized Point of Sale system.
• Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
• Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
• Necessary state food handler license(s) and liquor serving permit(s).

Responsibilities

• Take orders and serve food and beverage items to guests according to established standards.
• Enter orders into the computerized Point of Sale system and communicate special requests to the culinary team.
• Assemble food items such as appetizers, salads, and soups.
• Ensure consistent, attractive presentation of food and beverages.
• Ensure food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature.
• Maintain current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items.
• Process guest payments using proper accounting and cash-handling procedures.
• Keep the work area, including the guest dining area, clean and organized.
• Engage guests, navigate menu offerings, and capitalize on upselling opportunities.
