About The Position

The Banquet Server is responsible for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards. This role requires adherence to the company's Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life. The server must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag. They must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests, and follow all hotel policies and safety rules. This position also involves performing other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Responsible Beverage Service Certification required.
  • Food Handlers Certification required.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a faced paced environment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions.
  • Adhere to the company’s Service culture – 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
  • Participate in all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function.
  • Be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Adhere to Hotels cash handling policy.
  • Comply with Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Adhere to the Banquets schedule at all times.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Report broken and damaged equipment.
  • Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Set all tables according to hotel standards.
  • Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for food service functions.
  • Clean up banquet space after the completion of the function and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored and re-stocked properly.
  • Prepare room according to BEO and the various meal functions.
  • Follow all money handling procedures when serving the guest.
  • Know the menu items for each function served and be able to give accurate descriptions and potential allergens.
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
