About The Position

The Banquet Server ensures quality customer service during events and banquets. The role includes setting up assigned tables, retrieving and serving beverages and food orders according to hotel specifications and group requirements, and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment. The position is on-call and requires availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as business needs require.

Requirements

Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and coworkers.
Meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
High school graduate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in banquet operations and/or hospitality.
Some college.
ServSafe and/or food safety training.
Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.
Bilingual English/Spanish ability.
Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Responsibilities

Set up assigned tables for events and banquets.
Greet guests as they arrive and assist them with seating.
Take and retrieve alcoholic beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques when specified by function requirements.
Serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages according to departmental standards and function requirements.
Maintain food and beverage safety and quality in accordance with hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
Anticipate and respond promptly to guests’ needs, acknowledge guests, and maintain positive guest relations.
Be familiar with hotel services and features and local attractions and activities to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service areas.
Maintain the cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
