About The Position
The Banquet Server greets, assists, and serves guests and members at special functions and events. The role supports a positive guest experience through attentive service, effective communication, and coordination with banquet managers and the service team. Duties include preparing banquet rooms, serving food and beverages, clearing used service items, and ensuring guests are satisfied. The schedule varies with business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position involves regular movement around the venue and extended periods of standing and walking.
Requirements
- Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages.
- Provide an applicable state card or certificate if required by state law.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist Banquet Managers in welcoming and serving members and guests and providing a positive experience during banquet functions.
- Set up banquet rooms as requested by the supervisor, including glassware, service ware, and linen.
- Attend roll call meetings before banquet service to learn responsibilities and expectations.
- Serve beverages and menu courses in the appropriate order.
- Remove plates, service ware, and glassware as guests and members finish their courses.
- Comply with corporate policies, laws, and requirements concerning the service of alcoholic beverages.
- Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests and members to ensure they are satisfied.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
